Curtain Call

I'm quite surprised the show failed. I saw the musical in February and absolutely loved it. It was very funny, very witty, very silly and very entertaining. Everyone was perfectly cast, the music was great, the staging was excellent, so it's a real shame the musical only ran for five months. I think the reason why it failed was because the show lacked draw-cards. The Producers worked because Reg Livermore, Tom Burlinson and Bert Newton were starring in it, and Shout! succeeded because Mark Holden and John Paul Young were in it. I also think the musical failed because it wasn't advertised aggressively enough. A third reason why the show might have failed is because the theatre market is saturated. Hopefully the show will come to Sydney, but I'm not sure this will happen.
